ABOUT SANDOWN PARK
Sandown Park hosts some of the racing calendar’s finest events throughout the year, including the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse in July and bet365 Ultimate Celebration in April. Summertime Music Nights featuring major artists provide the ultimate evening getaway and antidote from the heat of nearby London, whilst the thrilling Tingle Creek Christmas Festival in early December is one of jump racing’s winter highlights.
FACILITIES
Sandown Park’s Premier Enclosure is one of the country’s finest thanks, in part, to excellent views towards the capital, not to mention the action on the course. Its covered seating offers views directly opposite the winning post whilst between races, racegoers can relax within the spectacular Parade Ring area. There is a wide choice of high-quality restaurants and bars including the Tingle Creek restaurant offering a full a la carte menu, The Brasserie, serving a modern menu focusing on seasonal dishes and fresh produce, and the Lanson Champagne Bar overlooking the Parade Ring. A number of food and drink outlets are located in idyllic locations on a warm summer’s day, and the course also boasts a picnic area in front of the Grandstand apron.
LOCALITY
In addition to racing, Sandown Park in Esher has its own 9-hole golf course, Daytona karting track, dry ski slope and on-site hotel. This smart Surrey town has its fair share of pretty English pubs, modern restaurants and fine houses. It’s also just 25 minutes direct from London Waterloo by train. The station is a short walk from the course with free shuttle buses operating on racedays.
