ABOUT HUNTINGDON
Just minutes away from the small market town of Huntingdon, deep in the Cambridgeshire countryside, this one-mile three-furlong course is home to 19 jump race meetings taking place across nine months of the year. The free-draining ground and flat surface make the Huntingdon circuit jump racing’s home of speed. Huntingdon was recently voted Best Small Racecourse in the South Midlands and East Anglia by the Racegoers Club.
FACILITIES
Despite its size, Huntingdon Racecourse is not short of excellent facilities for its racegoers. Huntingdon offers superb hospitality facilities with 14 individual suites each with panoramic views of the racecourse and first class catering and service.
The Peterborough Chase Restaurant, on the first floor of the Grandstand, offers excellent views of the course and parade ring. The restaurant also offers diners a private viewing balcony, Tote betting facilities, televised live racing and a fully licensed bar. Booking in advance is strongly recommended.
The more casual Hurdles bar and bistro serves a variety of hot dishes, from a roast of the day to cold snacks.
Thirsty punters can refuel at Bevan’s Bar on the main Grandstand’s first floor or the John Smiths Bar, on the ground floor with many more food and drink outlets around the grounds.
Tote facilities are available in all enclosures.
LOCALITY
The course is just a few minutes’ drive from Huntingdon and on race days a free coach service operates between the course and the station. The town itself is the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell and has more than 150 properties listed as being of special historical interest, including the house he was born in.
