Nottingham’s Racecourse was the setting of one of the sports most memorable runs, the five-furlong, straight track record of Minstrel King, set in 1960, which is still to be bettered to this day. Lying within the 280 acres of Colwick Park, just 2 miles from the city centre, Nottingham Racecourse has all the colour, thrills and excitement you could need for a grand day out.
Nottingham Racecourse is easily accessible by road, rail and air, and has ample free parking.
Facilities
Nottingham has two enclosures, the Premier and the Grandstand. While the Premier is the smaller it still has room for two bars and a rooftop restaurant, with excellent racetrack viewing. The larger Grandstand enclosure, in front of the main betting ring, has a variety of bars to suit your mood, a children’s play area and entertainment available over weekend and evening fixtures.
The Racecourse’s Paddocks Conference Centre is one of the region’s leading venues and is regularly booked for seminars, dinners and training days. All its suites offer natural daylight and panoramic views of the racetrack.
Locality
The historical town of Nottingham has plenty to offer the racegoers passing through. Many are attracted to the city by its numerous historical sites, including the castle, lace market and, of course, Sherwood Forest. The city also boasts a stunning array of parks and gardens making it one of the greenest cities in England.
