Trainee Clerk of the Course
We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to train as a Clerk of the Course. Whilst training the successful person will not be based at a specific Racecourse and will be required to travel as needed. Upon completion of the training programme they will take on the responsibility for all matters relating to turf husbandry, estate management and Raceday preparation at one or two of the smaller Racecourses. There will be a requirement to travel to other Racecourses to provide cover.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for horseracing, is self motivated, a team player and can demonstrate the ability to communicate confidently when dealing with all levels of members of the industry and the media. Experience in turf husbandry and commercial acumen are desirable. Applications from part qualified clerks are welcome.
It is essential that the successful person holds a valid driving licence.

E-Comms and Web-Sales Technical Support Analyst – 12 month Fixed Term contract
During 2012 Jockey Club Racecourses will be changing their booking, ticketing and CRM system provider to Audience View. To assist with the project the Business Services team are looking to appoint an E-Comms and Web-Sales Technical Support Analyst on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This exciting opportunity will involve the successful person providing technical support and user training for the E-Comms functionality of the Audience View Ticketing system enabling the Racecourse teams to send out targeting and attractive E-Comms campaigns. In addition to this they will set up, configure and maintain the racecourse sales portals and micro sites including CRM and page templates within the system.
The skills required for this position are:
- Knowledge and experience of e-communication and CRM systems
- Knowledge of Ticketing or Events
- Marketing knowledge and experience
- CMS and Data Management knowledge and experience
- A working knowledge of HTML
- Good level of IT competence
- Photoshop
- The ability to train our teams and communicate effectively
- Attention to detail
This role will be based at Epsom Downs Racecourse but there will be a requirement to spend on average 2 days per week at other venues within the group.

Sales and Marketing Executive – 12 month Fixed Term contract
Huntingdon Racecourse is part of the Jockey Club Racecourses group of 14 racecourses, and apart from horseracing provides facilities for conferencing, banqueting and other events.
We are currently looking to recruit a Sales & Marketing Executive for a period of 12 months.
The successful person will be required to work closely with the Managing Director to proactively sell and maximise Racing and Non Racing related income streams and source new business to achieve agreed targets. You will also be required to design, implement and analyse marketing activity for the racecourse.
The ideal candidate will be a self motivated and determined individual, have good communication skills and the ability to contribute well to the small team. Excellent IT and administration skills are also required. Relevant Sales and Marketing experience would be preferred. As this is the leisure industry there will be a requirement to work some unsocial hours.

Commercial Executive - Nottingham Racecourse
We are currently seeking to recruit for the exciting position of Commercial Executive for Nottingham Racecourse. For this role we need a dynamic and determined individual ready to take on the challenge of promoting the racecourse and maximising sales opportunities.
The successful person will be responsible for identifying and increasing sales for all areas of the business although there will be a focus on proactively pushing C&E sales. They will support the Commercial Manager by responding to incoming sales enquiries, whilst taking ownership of raceday hospitality and non-raceday events
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with proven successful sales and marketing experience and possess good communication skills. They will also be enthusiastic and have a flexible approach. The ability to contribute well and to take on responsibility for other aspects of the business within the small team is essential.
