Paul Fisher, Chief Operating Officer Paul joined Jockey Club Racecourses in 2000 as Finance Director for the 3 London Racecourses; Epsom Downs, Kempton Park and Sandown Park. He was promoted to Managing Director of Kempton Park to turn around the racecourse in 2005 and set a new direction following the opening of the new all weather facility. Having successfully completed this project he was then made Chief Operating Officer of Jockey Club Racecourses and successfully steered them through a significant cost reduction exercise in advance of the recession and a move to a more sound commercial footing. He has primary responsibility for the performance and operation of the Jockey Club's 14 Racecourses and the 12 racecourse Managing Directors report directly to him. John Smee, Group Racing Director John’s unprecedented knowledge of fixtures and race planning is gained from 24 years working for the Jockey Club and then managing the British Horseracing Board’s Race Planning department. He is responsible for the definition and content of all Jockey Club Racecourses fixtures. Colin Fellows, Group Property Director Colin joined Jockey Club Racecourses from Safeway where he was Director of Building Projects having previously filled the roles of Director of Planning and Co-ordination and Director of New Store Contracts during a 10-year stay. His extensive experience of property management includes periods at John Laing, Arlington Securities and Trafalgar House. David Dommett, Group IS Director David joined Jockey Club Racecourses in 2003 with a brief that has since grown to incorporate The Jockey Club and each of it’s subsidiaries. He is responsible for the definition and delivery of an Information Services strategy that supports and augments the business strategy of the group and each operating unit. Ian Sidgwick, Group Purchasing Director Ian joined in 2007 to form the new function of Group Purchasing. His background was as a Global Purchasing Director within a major international company, where he led numerous strategic purchasing projects and ran purchasing training courses. Within JCR many opportunities have been taken, and continue to be identified, to obtain savings and other benefits for the courses via an approach that harnesses the leverage available to us when operating as a focused group.
